About Facial Fortress
Facial Fortress was created by Dr. Eddie Valenzuela, MD, FAAP, a board-certified pediatrician and physician founder. After years of developing sensitive-skin products, he created a medicated 3-in-1 wash for adults dealing with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis on the face, beard, hair, and scalp.
His expertise in the manufacture and production of children’s sensitive skin consumer goods for the past 7 years led to the creation of Facial Fortress.
Recognizing the need for a safe and skin-friendly alternative to traditional beard shampoos, he developed a medicated shampoo, face, and beard wash that avoids harsh ingredients that can cause skin irritation.
Dr. Eddie continues to actively practice pediatrics in Houston, Texas, while managing Happy Cappy, which offers child-friendly products for those experiencing skin conditions like cradle cap, seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and eczema.
Our Story
Dr. Eddie Valenzuela, during his years of practicing pediatrics, continuously came across patients struggling with common skin conditions like dandruff, cradle cap, and seborrheic dermatitis. Dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis commonly affect oil-rich areas of the skin, including the scalp, eyebrows, face, and beard area. Malassezia yeast is associated with these conditions, along with individual skin susceptibility and other factors.
Many of Dr. Eddie’s customers relayed to him that they were using the gently formulated Medicated Shampoo for Children on their beards and scalps with great success in resolving flaking and itching. This led to the idea of harnessing the flake-fighting power of pyrithione zinc and letting men know that there is a better way to tackle flaking of the face, beard, and hair.
While many products on the market claim to reduce flaking and irritation associated with dandruff, most of them contain harsh chemicals and fragrances that often worsen the condition, leaving men with dry, itchy, irritated skin and unruly beards.
Working with an R&D team, Dr. Eddie developed Facial Fortress, a physician-developed medicated 3-in-1 face, hair, and beard wash containing 0.95% pyrithione zinc. It helps eliminate itching, irritation, redness, flaking, and scaling associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis while cleansing the face, beard, hair, and scalp.
