Using Facial Fortress
Facial Fortress is a medicated 3-in-1 wash for your face, hair, scalp and beard. Its pyrithione zinc 0.95% helps relieve flaking, scaling and itching associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
Use it on the hair and the skin beneath it, following the complete Drug Facts directions and warnings.
Washing and rinsing
- Wet your hair and skin thoroughly.
- Gently massage the wash onto your scalp and skin, including beneath your beard.
- Rinse thoroughly.
The label does not specify a timed leave-on period. This is a rinse-off wash, so rinse it out rather than leaving it in your beard. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse the eyes thoroughly with water.
Use frequency
For best results, use Facial Fortress at least twice a week or as directed by a doctor. That medicated-use schedule is separate from how often you may need to wash away sweat or styling products.
Stop use and ask a doctor if the condition worsens or does not improve after regular use as directed.
Ingredients and sensitive skin
A fragrance-free formula
Facial Fortress is hypoallergenic and formulated with sensitive skin in mind. It contains no added or masking fragrance and is dye-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free. It is also made without the sulfate cleansers sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES).
Active and supporting ingredients
The active ingredient provides the medicated effect. The inactive ingredients have other jobs: cleansing, conditioning, preserving the formula and adjusting its texture or pH.
